Nature Nurture

Connection

The effectiveness of being in nature is evident from the physical fitness, lowering blood pressure and enhancing a sense of connection to the natural environment, but when combined with the therapeutic relationship of counselling, the quality of the personality change can be a more lasting one.

What To Expect

Walk and Talk counselling sessions are a different way of offering a counselling session. They take in the natural environment and offer a sense of being grounded in nature. Taking the office outdoors has an impact on the connection with the natural surroundings, yourself and the therapist. Meeting outdoors and walking side-by-side reduces the power dynamic, giving a more equal connection. When walking and talking, it can feel less severe or pressured, as the person is not directing their eyes onto your face. There is opportunity to view glimmers of nature, such as a squirrel running across the path, the birds singing or the rainbow above.
